Celebrate May Day in your Own Way!

Greetings – Friday – May 1st., 2009
Oh how I love the first day of May to fall on a ‘glorious Friday’! A day where we can all just take off and ‘run out to play’, well, at least by the end of the day, by 5pm., anyway. And do so without a care in the world, beginning & ending our first day of May in a frivolous & fun, sort of way. Go now, without a care in the world & enjoy this beautiful May Day. This particular May Day brings to mind the festival of Flora, the Roman Goddess of Flowers. That is just one of the many celebrations that the first Day of May brings to us. The Month of May, representative of the number ‘5’ & ‘2’… creating a sum together of ‘7’, signifies a ‘Holy’ or ‘Spiritual’ number linked to the Month of May.

May has always been my favorite month of all. Finally, It’s truly Spring in the Northern hemisphere. The sun rises are absolutely gorgeous, the sunsets are phenomenal; we could truly become addicted to both. And there are worse addictions, of course. ; )

Every country world wide celebrates the first day of May, in some special way. There is something very special & spiritual about the global unity & celebrations of May 1st. And the significant ONENESS consciousness, that the first day of May, represents.

In Hawaii, May Day is also known as Lei Day. Hawaiians set aside this day in celebration of island culture in general & native Hawaiian culture in particular. In the mid 1920’s this day was created by a poet & local newspaper columnist. This first day of May, has since been adopted by state and local government as well as by the residents, and is celebrated statewide on all the islands of Hawaii. The first Lei Day was proposed in 1927 in Honolulu. Leonard “Red” and Ruth Hawk composed “May Day is Lei Day in Hawai’i,” the traditional holiday song. Originally it was a contemporary fox trot, later rearranged as the Hawaiian Hula song performed today.

The cosmic energy of the Taurus Sun & Leo Moon today could strike a chord of rigidity in the sense of doing what you want to do, despite the feelings of others. Make a conscious effort today (to of course), consider what you truly want, need & desire, but also to consider your significant other, or that person closest to you, and what matters to ‘them’, too. This is a powerful cosmic combo mixed with Mars in Aries, indicates that when you choose to think before you speak &/or act, today, you will set yourself up on a nice course where harmony can exist personally. professionally & romantically, moving you into a weekend of making great strides in your relationship that will create balance & harmony.
