Relationship tip of the Day: Love waits, Lust wants
Ok, so you’re meeting for the first time, you both are somewhat nervous, hopeful and could even be mildly or to a great degree,
overwhelmed with anxiety. You’ve experienced email, texting, and
several phone conversations. You could even believe that ‘s/he is The One’. That’s fine, everything is clicking, you’re both on the same page, at least up till now. You just cannot imagine this person not being in your life—-and you don’t want things to go into reverse, you want them to move forward. What could spoil or create a burden in this special budding romance that could very well —-since everything is so right, right now—-end it?

It’s important to remember that because you’re desiring a committed relationship whether it’s with this person, or not—-you are seeking a relationship that is ‘real’, solid, committed, and emotionally secure. And the one thing that —not only ‘Can’ but will absolutely create something less than, vs. more than, is SEX. Choosing to indulge in your carnal desires of heart, by engaging in sexual activity, before
you truly know that what you’re feeling, each for the other, is indeed ‘lust or love’, will skew or cause confusion about whether or not what the two of you have is real love or simply lust, each for the other.

Remember that Love waits, & Lust wants, ‘now’. Real love between two people goes beyond the physical—albeit the physical is included, of course. You will both desire, want, need, even drool over the other—-but at the same time, it’s important to define what it is you truly desire with all your heart—-a casual sexual relationship, resulting in more likely than not, heartbreak & despair, or a healthy loving & committed relationship with great sex?

This is a choice and a decision that comes with maturity about ‘who you are’ and what you truly desire for yourself—-and being prepared and willing to say No, to less than what you truly desire with all of your heart. And when you say, ‘No, in the right way, neither he nor she will feel rejected, but truly honored, respected, and genuinely loved.
