Train up a child in the way he should go…Proverbs 22:6
When God says something to us or tells us to do something, we may want to disobey him, but our self talk won’t let us find a good excuse, to disobey him. His voice will haunt us until we do, the right thing. Many of us may say, “Oh that isn’t God’s Voice’ that is my conscience screaming in my head or heart. Ok, call it your conscience. Who do you think created your conscience? If your conscience is screaming at you to do the right thing—-yet, you do the wrong thing… (we all do) then that tells you right there that your ‘Spirit is being governed by something higher than your human comprehension’. So call it ‘God or whatever you want to call it—-regardless it’s bigger than you! So in your limited human logic, what do you have to lose by believing that your conscience is “GOD”; the Holy Spirit speaking to you? Nothing!! But you have everything to Gain.
Teach your children well. It is an investment in their eternity!
Ok great!! So how do we train our children?
1. Give them Quality Time.
2. Listen to them carefully, so that they will listen to you.
3. Admit when you are wrong. (you will gain vs. lose respect)
4. Love them Unconditionally.
5. Discipline them, motivated by the desire to protect them.
6. Motivate them to be all they can be. (ways to correct without demeaning)
7. Lead them to fully understand their ultimate accountability is to God. (when you are not there, this will give them accountablility, to someone other than themselves ensuring that they will have a better chance to do the right thing, as well as someone to lean on to protect them & help them )
8. Teach them that the most important relationship in their life is their close and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
9. Teach them to spend time daily reading the word of God and in Prayer. The answers to Life’s questions are found in the Word of GOD.
10. Etch into their minds that God has a Plan for your Life. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
11. Teach them to Obey GOD & leave the consequences to Him.
Regardless of whether your children are still at home, or you’ve raised them already, You can still make a difference by how you lead by example, & prayer.
May God bless you on this beautiful Sunday and sink this message into the heart of every parent who reads this message.
I am on today, Sunday, until 2pm., pacific. & then again this evening,
between 7pm & 10pm., pacific.
Enjoy your Sunday, cosmically it’s what we call a ‘FREE DAY’… still affected by influences of yesterday, but in a much calmer way, we’re more steady, calm, and
introspective.
Blessings & love,
