Like a bright burning candle, so the year burns down to its close.

There are a number of favorable signs in the heavens as we reach the end of this holiday week. The Moon is working well with both Venus and Neptune — think, “Spirit of Love.” Of course that is what the season is all about, but sometimes we forget — and it is good that the planetary energies are aligned with the right energy when we remember. Mercury (Communication), is also working in tandem with Saturn (Practicality) so that you can find the enjoyment of the holidays in a down to earth way as you work out your plans for the weekend. There’s alittle tension between the Moon and Saturn though — this can come out when you bump into your budget. We’re all in the same boat, though, and people will understand… so do what’s right for you and yours as the New Year approaches.

Earlier in the week found the Moon (Emotions) working with Pluto (Renewal) – a perfect alignment as the Christmas week began. Have you ever noticed the opportunity to reconnect with old friends during the Holidays? Of course. But the opportunity extends deeper than that — you have an opening to actually transform your relationships — to let go of the things in the past you don’t want anymore, live and celebrate totally in the now, and make the next year a dream of happiness. That’s the magic of the yuletide.

Saturday looks interesting with the Moon in “Conjunction” (two planetary energies working things out together) with the Sun, and Venus in Conjunction with Neptune. The latter Conjunction involves interplays of Love with Spirituality, and can also show a kind of zealous romantic encounter fired up by the spirit of the season. Moon and Sun, are Emotions and Personality, always a combination behind what makes things tick. When they cooperate (instead of your gut telling you one thing and your head another), this alignment can help you see thing with clarity and be efficient. No hesitation.

Sunday finds the Moon dancing well with Uranus — the planet of new ideas. You may find that the holiday celebrations, and conversations with new friends and old, spark new ideas for adventures in the new year. The Practicality of Saturn is also at play, and of course in the larger picture this is wise — economically speaking. The Moon is in Conjunction with Mercury today, so you feel that you can talk these things out with your mate — a good day for a hot mocha and a chat about the coming year.

Here comes Friday… seem like a long week?  Oddly enough it has also swept by as a new US President was swept into office. There were so many emotions surrounding this election that it is a welcome move in the heavens for the Moon (Emotions) to embrace Pluto (Renewal).  Time to put all that angst aside and hang on to what you truely love.  The Moon is also dancing well with Mercury (Communication) as the week ends, so go ahead and talk about putting things together again, and forging ahead.

On Wednesday, as Americans woke up to the result of the election, Venus (Romance) was working well with Neptune (Spirituality).  Hmmmm… the Romance of the Spirit — sounds like a book title, doesn’t it?  Well, when you think about it, all of Romance is Spiritual in nature.  A political campaign and the move forward, once it is over, is about ideals and much about that… is of the Spirit.  On the home front — what can you do to bring transformation into your own relationships?  Trust your instincts.

Saturday finds our emotions and egos (Moon and Sun in a Trine — a harmonious configuration) in balance, with the Moon also playing nice with Saturn — the planet of practicality.  Time for a basic, wholesome weekend event… like a potluck dinner, or maybe just a simple drive in the country.  There’s also a feeling of newness in the air, because driving into unfamiliar territory (literally, or otherwise) is another likely component of your day.  We’re under a Pisces Moon this weekend, and  many age old questions prevail today and throughout the weekend, and you find yourself asking these questions: So why am I here? What am I doing? Where am I going? And what’s this ‘physical life’ all about anyhow?  Today Faith replaces Logic… so ask that question too, where and on what do I place my faith, trust, and loyalty?

Sunday brings about a sense of initiative as influenced by Mars — the warrior planet.  What can you get done today?  Well the Moon (Emotions) is in opposition with Venus (Romance) today, so it might be best work on projects from other parts of your life… even simple household chores.  We’re also showing some stress around the elements of religion and illusion (two things that often go hand in hand, when you think about it) today so it’s a good time to pray for discernment.  Cut to the core values and stick with them.

Welcome to Thursday. The Moon (Emotions) is dancing well in the heavens with both Pluto (Transformation), and Venus (Love) today. Hmmmm… a good time to have that talk with your romantic partner that can deepen your relationship. What talk? Well, talking about precisely what you each are feeling. That’s right. Feelings — remember those? Take a break from your busy week, pour a glass of wine and chat comfortably about them. With Pluto involved, there’s also a sense of renewal — and that is good for your partnership.

You’re in the mood for a new way to work things out, and you find you can communicate well about it.

Earlier in the week, the Moon was working well with Mercury (Communication), and Chiron (Healing), so you may expect some good news about health related matters for you or someone close to you. The Moon and the Sun (Personality) are also working well together today — another sign that you’re feeling healthy. Interestingly, both the Moon and Sun are a bit agitated with Jupiter (Growth), so today is not the right time to make plans to expand a project, or increase spending.

At work, and in your romance relationships, Spiritual energy is of the essence.

And this weekend, Mercury is again active — making nice with Pluto (Transformation), but showing stress with Jupiter (Growth). Isn’t that a common thing that happens in our life? We want to bring about positive change, but we’re nervous about how the growth it requires might stretch us. All change is stress. But, positive growth (a promotion at work, a deeper commitment in our love live) is the kind of change where the temporary stress is worth it.

Maybe you’ve thought of a new way to organize things in your home. Or, you could have a new, down-to-earth approach to your relationship. Earlier this week, the Moon, Sun and Saturn were in position to offer break-through energy. Is there something keeping you from getting what you want? What is it? You have an opportunity to examine that question and work on it today as both the Moon (Emotions) and the Sun (Personality) form a strong tugging contest against Saturn (Restrictions). Seldom are both the Moon and Sun inclined to challenge a Planet energy simultaneously. This combination is a good sign that you can overcome what’s holding you back, but you have to wonder at what cost? Proceed with a well thought-out, and measured plan.

Yesterday, Friday, the Moon (Emotions) worked well with Mercury, Saturn, and Mars — a nice alignment for the end of the week. This is a sign that you feel you can take the initiative in your life, and you know what to say to express your feelings. As in, “this project really feel like it needs to get started today.” Or, “I think we really need to get away this weekend.” You might also feel some restrictions — but remember, the initiative is yours, so seize the day.

Looking forward to Sunday, the Moon (Emotions) is working well with Venus (Love)… and the mood is obvious, you are feeling amorous and looking for a little romance. Under Saturn’s influence today, there might be some give and take with exactly the when and how you’ll fit in the loving. Unfortunately family responsibilities have a way of interrupting. You can work it out though… so enjoy your Summer heat.

The Moon today is full of good energy for new beginnings, this has a lot to do with the New Moon that occurred earlier last week. You can really “bring it” this month. What new projects do you have to start? Is it time to take a new course of action in your career — in a relationship? There was a Solar Eclipse last week too, and that is another opportunity for you to look at things anew — as they are revealed again after being hidden during the eclipse. What will you see in a new light this week?

February looks like a busy month — a time when you can get things done… even on the weekends. How do you juggle multiple projects, deadlines, and manage to keep track of it all? Does your computer help you manage your tasks, or do you simply write a list and cross things off as they are completed? This is a good time to have a system so you can double-check — it’s a bit hectic, and communications can go awry because of the Mercury Retrograde. Just make sure you communicate with yourself well — use a daytimer, journal, or simple note system.

The Sun in Aquarius (thru. the 19th) brings a thirst for learning that can translate into innovation and creativity. You should be able to take a good look at your life, home, and surroundings and see what’s ready for a little change. On Monday (Feb. 11th), the Moon and Sun favor each other in such a way that you will feel confidence in your abilities. In fact, the Moon (emotions) also works with Mars (assertion) to boost confidence — just don’t take it too far. There’s a fine line between self confidence and an ego that’s a “legend in your own mind.” You can use this influence for strength of character as you “step up” to lead at work and home.

On Tuesday (Feb. 12th), the Moon (Emotion) forms a trine with both Saturn (Practicality), and Neptune (Compassion). This brings you down to earth as you approach business matters, and makes you open to understanding and empathy with others. Since February is a month to get things done, use this to get in tune with those around you so that your “team” can forge ahead.
