Welcome to Sunday. The Moon likes the Sun which brings balance to your endeavors today. Ever notice when your emotional intelligence conflicts with your logic? You might be shopping and think something looks like a good deal, but something in your gut tells you otherwise? Follow your gut instinct. A good rule is that if you’re taking a bit of time to try and talk yourself into something — it’s probably not the right thing for you. There’s also emotional harmony for new ideas showing in the heavens, so it’s a good day to have a talk about some plans you have with your mate.

On Saturday, the heavens showed a bit of tension showing between Venus and Mars. You know what that means – Men are from Mars, and Women are from Venus, right? Hey, as I always say, a little bit of creative friction can also be a good thing. The Moon is working well with both Mercury (Communication), and Pluto (Transformation) today as well. And that’s the clue to solving any tension you feel and moving forward. Talk about it. Not argue — talk in the best sense, which also includes listening well. You’ll probably learn something very valuable, which is why I said that creative friction pays off in the first place.

Earlier, last week, the Moon is dancing well with Jupiter (Expansion) — a good sign for emotional strength. The Moon was also in conjunction with Venus, so those Love emotions were surfacing. These could have carried into your weekend, and you may find yourself at a champagne brunch for celebration You may have found your week a bit stressful, as the heavens were also showing signs of tensions too. Just remember when that happens, to keep your cool, take long breaks, and that tension makes thing happen. So handle it well, move along, and enjoy the love in your life.

Monday starts the week off relatively quietly as the Moon squares off with Mars the planet of initiation. This leaves you feeling link you’d rather work on existing projects than start something new. That’s ok, just remember to take a few notes for the new things coming up ahead — time doesn’t wait for anyone. We also see a little tension with Venus today, and this means the ebb and flow in the love life might require your attention. Don’t let the tension sit and build. Communicate honestly, and earnestly… and listen well. That’s the way to nip it in the bud.

Get ready for an active Saturday. Mars is cooperating with Saturn which means that you can get things done — playing by the rules today. Want to bargain with your mate for something you want to do? Make sure you also give them what they want. The Moon (Emotion) show strengths with Pluto, Saturn, and Venus today… a good combination for your love life. If you’re “square” with your partner, then your love feelings can come out… and that may provide a needed transformation in your relationship. Along with the Moon, Venus (Love) is very active today… so whoop it up and enjoy this important aspect of your life.

Friday found the Moon mingling with Pluto… the planet of transformation and renewal. This transformative energy is still at play for your weekend. And while it is certainly appropriate for the coming challenges ahead for the new US President and his administration, renewal is always a good thing for us. On the personal level, what areas of your own life require renewal? There was also a bit of stress showing with Chiron (the Healer), and Neptune (Spirituality) Friday. Makes sense, because transformation is a journey requiring Spiritual work, which often requires you to deal with issues requiring energy, strength and discernment. You can do it. It is how we grow.

Earlier in the week, we witnessed an historic innauguration day in the US. In the heavens, on that day, the Moon (Emotions) was working well with Mercury (Communication), Jupiter (Growth and Prosperity), and with the Sun (Personality). Nationally, this translates to a message of hope communicated by the new President. But in our own lives, and certainly for the new President, more than just emotion is required to meet the tasks ahead. The Moon was also showing a bit of stress with Mars — the planet of Initiation — and that is always the challenge… see things as they truly are, have a plan… and get it started, then stay the course even after the initial excitement wears off. It’s like that for a President, and each of us as we launch our own plans in the new year.

So on this day over a relaxing cup of coffee, it’s a good time to chat about your plans for prosperity in the New Year. Sure… even in down times you can prosper. The symbol for “Crisis”, in Chinese, is also the same as for “Opportunity.” The stock market is way down (crisis), but it’s a good time to buy (opportunity). Welcome to Friday…The Moon (Emotions) is doing a dance with Venus (Love) as we end our week, and cooperating with Mercury (Communication), so look forward to a romance filled Friday. But remember that the key is Communication, and that means BOTH talking and listening. It also means giving careful consideration to what you wish to say, and how to say it so the other person can hear it “in their own language.” What language? Well, I mean English, but relationship advisers often point out that people respond to different words and adjectives. Do you know your mate’s “love language?”

Earlier in the week, there was a feeling of renewal in the air as the Fall season really came on and you took a look at annual projects to determine ways to do them better this year. This with the power of the Aries full Moon on last Tuesday evening brought a sense of purpose, heightened still more by the Moon’s conjunction with Mars — the planet of initiative. Time to get things done — you can carry this into your weekend.

Saturday finds the Moon squaring off with two big, but distant planets — Saturn (Practicality), and Uranus (New Ideas). Remember those new projects you brainstormed earlier? Go ahead and use those new ideas in a practical, down to earth (compare Lowes to Home Depot, for best prices, etc.) way. The Moon is also dancing nice with Neptune, paradoxically the planet of both Religion and Illusion. How do you discern the difference? You can pray for that discernment. Reminds me of the old Moody Blues poem that ends, “but we decide which is right — and which is an illusion.” To that I would just add that God already knows.

On Sunday, the Sun and Moon are in balance, and the Moon is playing with Pluto — a planet with energy vibrating for rejuvenation. You could use a little “R and R” — couldn’t you? After all, a certain amount of stress can come about from the “work” required in love relationships (shown by a stressful position with Venus), so a break will do you good. At least get away to a park — before the weather heads into the Winter zone.

What a week — we’ve made it to Friday. And Friday looks interesting as the Moon (Emotions) works with Pluto (Transformation) to bring about an energy where you can make some real changes. Venus is also working well with Pluto… and you know what that means — transformation is possible on Friday in your Love life. Follow your heart.

Earlier in the week, The Moon (Emotions) was in a conjunction with Chiron (The Healer), and also working well with Mercury (Communication), and the Sun (Personality). Thus the energy was aligned well for you to “clear the air” at work, with your family, and in your romantic life. How did that go? Remember the Mercury is also in Retrograde (through Oct. 15th), so listen carefully, and double check any negotiations that are on paper.

On Saturday, the Moon is looking a little wild — no doubt emotions are raw after a very unusual week. But also on Saturday, the Moon makes nice with Mars and Saturn, but gets jiggy with the Sun. This can set up a situation where you must stress practicality (rent a a movie instead of going out, or cook a good meal instead of going to a restaurant), against your own idea of what would be fun. That’s OK. Practicality is a good thing now… if only the bankers and wall street had common sense in the last few years.

On Sunday, the Moon is making nice with Venus… the planet of Love. Grab some while you can. It’s not a good time to make new plans and discuss new projects… just kick back and relax for a nice relaxing Fall weekend day. I know, I know… sometimes it’s hard to rest, but resting will actually recharge you for all thos projects you have been thinking about.

Monday — Columbus Day — is looking a little off kilter. First, there’s Mercury (Communication) having a little problem with Venus (Love) — not much love is returned to you when you make your announcements today… know what I’m saying? The Moon then, is squaring off with Pluto… the planet of transformation. Ask yourself how you might be emotionally “blocking” (usually anger) something that can actually bring you needed renewal. Are you avoiding seeing an old friend? Holding a grudge against someone in the family? Clear it. The only person it is holding back is you.

Welcome to Friday. It’s a busy day for the Moon (Emotions) with a number of planets forming a lively dance in the heavens — Mercury, Venus, and Mars are partnering with the Moon, and so it’s a good day to take the initiative to speak about your love life goals with your romantic interest. Probably an early Fall evening out with dinner and music are in order. But the Moon is also stressing a bit with Pluto (transformation) and the Sun (Personality), so things are not so simple. Are they ever? So, yes — it’s a good time to talk, but don’t expect an immediate change. Give it time.

Earlier in the week Venus (Love, Women) was in conjunction (Interacting) with Mars (Initiative, Men). This made it a natural to work things out with coworkers of the opposite sex, and also with your family members or partners of the opposite sex. Remember the book, “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus”? That’s catchy — and true a lot of the time as the two sexes have different ways of relating to others and to the world. Did you find some easy going at work or at home? What about new brainstorms you had earlier in the week — did you right them down so you can work on them later?

The Moon was in the groove with Uranus (New Ideas), so you may have noticed good ideas percolating in your workplace, and also in your family life. Getting out of the rut — brainstorming improved way to do things. That’s the ticket, but you need to follow through now. There’s was also a little stress showing with Saturn — a planet that generally influences restrictions. Isn’t that the way it goes? You have a new idea… but others are resistant to change. Hang in there, real progress can only come from good new ideas and the change they inspire.

Looking into the weekend, the Moon (Emotions) is getting a little feisty on Saturday, showing some stress with Mars, Mercury, and Venus. That’s Initiative, Communication, and Love. This comes after cooperation with the same planetary energies yesterday (Friday). Harmony, then discord — so go the cycles of life. Remember that change, growth and development (in your family, career, romances, etc.) all come with some “stress” on the learning curve when you move ahead. That’s life. So, if you had a good conversation with a loved one on Friday, you could see a little “positive” stress on Saturday as the details get worked out. “Postitive stress?” Sure. Stress is a natural part of life and if it helps you get somewhere you need to go — that’s “positive,” right?

On Thursday, the Moon (Emotions) is happy with Jupiter (Growth), and Saturn (Restrictions). Huh? Well, sometimes the Cosmos dance as crazy as your life appears to be here on good old Earth. And, to understand what it means for us takes a bit of what it takes to understand a good poem. You know, paradoxes like “the way forward, is the way back?” If you can find the truth in that, then call it the Universe’s poetry, and search for the truth of growth in restriction. How? One example is learning — you’re restricted to the basics at first, but as you proceed with the right foundation, you gain in skill, potential and prospects. So, ask yourself what your emotional intelligence knows to be the right discipline now — in learning, relationships, and your career — so you can continue your development. And the Moon is also harmonious with the Sun (Personality) today, so it’s a good time to “get it together.”

Earlier this week, the Moon was working with Chiron — known as the great healer. This can be a good follow-up to your speaking from the heart. Sometimes the truth can be painful… but emotions can and do heal. Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Sun (Personality) works in conjunction with Saturn (practicality) so you find yourself managing things on a budget (positive), but a bit restricted in your plans (the flip side). Our emotions are a bit at odds with what our head is telling us — how often is that true? Well, there’s some cosmological tension between the personality (Sun), and our feelings (Moon), and this again indicates Saturn (restrictions) influence. One good example of this is that your emotions tell you to buy that expensive piece of clothing (advertising gurus know that all purchases are made on emotion), while your head tells you to stay in budget. Which do you think is best?

Friday finds the Moon “in stress” with four planets — Venus, Mercury, Mars, & Saturn. Wow. Emotionally that suggests some tension in the areas of Love, Communication, Initiation, and Practicality. One example of how this can play out in your life is that while you may fear communicating with your romantic partner, when you finally take the bull by the horns, you work out a practical solution for one of your challenges that you didn’t see at first.

And, looking into the weekend, Saturday shows the Moon working well with Venus — the planet of Love and Romance — this after some stress with it on Friday. Whoo Hoo — time to celebrate your love life this weekend as a result of the courage you displayed in your conversation on Friday. See? “No fear” does have it’s rewards.

This theme continues into Sunday as the Moon (Emotions) shows tension with Uranus (New Ideas). So, there’s no need to be extravagant, just focus on your mate. No matter how long you’re been together, you can always discover each other anew.

This tension between new and creative ideas versus practicality is particularly strong now since the first quarter Moon energy brings a feeling of beginnings. Birth, renewal, sowing and awakening, all play their role now. But there are many good things that begin in a practical mode. Attention to detail is always a good way to kick off a new project.

And the New Moon is associated with spring, the east and the element wood. People born in this phase tend to be lively and innovative — free spirits with a love of new ideas and adventures. Just in time for Super-Bowl Sunday, the Moon formed a “semi-square” position with the Sun, and this means that you could have felt one way (New York should win), and think quite another (it looks like New England will win). Looks like the emotions took that one — New York made the “upset” (an emotional term?). The same push-pull could be in affect early this week with regards to your relationships — you think everything is all right, but you’re feeling alittle uneasy about it. Remember to be careful in how you communicate, and in how you assess what you hear from others (ask questions for clarification) — it’s still a Mercury Retrograde time (until mid-February).
